Jumpsuits are tricky ones. Finding the right jumpsuit, the right occasion to don it, getting the correct length and how to forget that they leave you necessarily naked while using the loo. They are not easy to pull. However, these dilemmas about an outfit must not intimidate you because obviously over the years jumpsuits have become a major wardrobe staple. How elegantly they have become an alternative to your usual dresses and tees with regular jeans. Be it any occasion, jumpsuit help you to stand out, all you need to know how to style it and you’re ready to walk the red carpet!
Here are few tips to style a jumpsuit-
START WITH SOLIDS –
Solid jumpsuits be the best. Solids are simple to style, classy to look at. It goes like an unbroken vertical line from head to toe. Initially, you can start with solid colors, dark colors. Solids colors works well for casual brunch and parties. Once you’re confident enough to walk and jump in jumpsuit, go for prints , multicolored.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT-
Do not pick too tight or too loose. Tight jumpsuits might look like bodysuit and loose ones probably make you look shapeless. Finding the perfect fit is the key, so go for something that goes straight to cinched waist to wide leg pants. Jumpsuits that cinch your waist adds a factor to your femininity.
The navy blue jumpsuit I’m wearing here is neither tight nor loose, I call it relaxed fit. 😀 It stops before the ankle and looks flattering enough.
ADD A DIMENSION-
By this I mean add power factor to your jumpsuit. Like layer it, put on a jean jacket or maybe a bomber jacket. Shrugs are also good to go. Cinch your waist by wrapping a belt around ? Why not go for waist pouch? This way you can accessorize it as well.
Here, I haven’t layered anything because my jumpsuit got cold shoulders which is attractive enough and already adds a dimension to my attire.
WEAR HEELS/ PUMPS-
Spectators have a tendency to draw eye down because of the long length of the jumpsuit. The best way to balance is to wear high heels or pumps. With wide leg pants pumps are good to go. Avoid flats, they might end up making you look short. Here, I have slipped into black pumps that I got from catwalk store.
